Strategic Advisory Board

The Universal DPI Safeguards Framework is an open asset geared towards mitigating risks at both the individual and at the societal level from poorly designed and implemented DPI. In 2024 with safeguards prioritized in the Global Digital Compact, the first version of the Framework was released. In 2025, the Universal Safeguards Secretariat is focusing on implementations and evolution of the Framework, guided by a continuous listening–learning updating process, global mainstreaming and catalytic implementations in countries. In this light, coordinated efforts on a global scale, as well as local champions, are critical to enable societies to implement safe and inclusive DPI to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The DPI Safeguards Strategic Advisory Board is being established to support this outcome.
